I recently turned on my acer aspire 3 laptop and there was no display but the light that indicate weather the pc on or off was on. So I googles for a solution and I found out this happens due to RAM errors. So I tried removing one RAM from slot 2 and it worked. But I stilled wanted to know weather this is the RAM or the slot. So I took the RAM  and put it in a safe place, then I put the other RAM on the same slot and It worked. So I think this is the 2nd RAM slot's fault. I am not entirely sure about it so can You explain with a solution?(since I can't work with 4GB RAM).

Does the RAM that you put in a safe place also work by itself in each slot? Jack E/NJ

It works in the working slot,( slot 2), so I think this is a faulty slot.

I'm confused. If slot 2 works then why do you say this is a faulty slot? Slot 2 either works or it doesn't work. Which is it? Jack E/NJ

Slot 1 is broken and slot 2 is working, I mean slot 1 only works sometimes, most of the time when a RAM stick is installed in slot 1 the pc will not boot up, there is the on indicator light but no display.
