I bought the Acer Helios 300(PH315-51) last year from Flipkart on(11-10-2018) and the warranty is valid till (10-10-2019).  (From INDIA)
I want to know is it worth extending the warranty for 2yrs?
The cost is around Rs.13,000 (2 yrs)
Or should I save the money to buy led panel or keyboard or hinges (i.e any of the parts which have major chance of getting damaged in 2yrs) by myself?

ankkol2011 well unfortunately every country has their own different warranty rules according to their own laws for ex in US its 2 years carry in (for older models the new 2019 changed to only 1 year recently as far as im aware) in UK its only 1 year ITW

And you are completely correct the major warranty issues i had seen so far are all with India service centers because Acer doesnt have their own centers its all sub contracted by private companies and they tend to do what they want at their own way the best action when this happens and they refuse it with excuses its to keep pushing it to the highest escalation possible

Wait for it to complete. You should have taken the extended warranty right when you had bought the PC. You can also contact Acer support and ask them why is the price so much high.

@XdxD the extended warranty has to be taken until up to 1 month left of the normal warranty to expire if the normal warranty period expires before taken extended warranty its not possible to extend it anymore and the prices differ from country to country also my advice is to always get it directly from acer do not go through third parties anyway im just clarifying to whoever would be interested in acquiring it 😊

After going through the Terms And Conditions of the Extended Warranty, I don't find any reason why should I buy the extended warranty, bcz it's not covering anything which is likely to get damaged in the period of 2 yrs...
    Have a look https://www.shopacer.co.in/Warranty/ShopAcer_AllInOne_Registration.aspx

Not covering the HINGES,LCD or KEYBOARD,
and MotherBoard is only repaired if its due to electric failure BUT that is also not fully true bcz the warranty is also void if there is any damage due to improper electric supply. (3.d)

I think the warranty is only valid when the laptop is working in ideal condition...

    What are your thoughts guys??

ankkol2011 user self damage/wear will not be covered by any manufacturer on any device and you can see its exactly cover as the normal warranty so i really dunno the issues that your describing because the same policies are applied in the normal warranty also
the most important more expensive piece of hardware that needs to be covered its the motherboard and its components and thats it everything else its easily replaceable therefore doesnt matter

    1. Warranty Limitations
      1. The warranty is not transferable from one user/customer to another.
      2. The warranty does not cover replacement of the Personal Computer (PC)
      3. Acer India will not be responsible for loss of data on the PC under any circumstances. Customers are encouraged to back up all data stored on the hard disk of their Acer India PC before giving the PC for service.
      4. Any software that accompanied the Acer India PC is on an "as is" basis. Acer India does not warrant the operation of any or all the software programs pre-loaded or added to the Acer India PC.
      5. Acer India's warranty does not entail a warranty of functionality or any obligation to repair or replace a defective computer, if that defect is a result of physical breakage, improper installation or connections, electrical faults external to the product, software induced problems (eg. Virus attacks), abuse or unauthorized modification of the product.
      6. Any service, repair or replacement not within the scope of Acer India's coverage shall be subject to the rates and terms of the ASP performing such service.
      7. All third party peripherals, whether purchased as part of a system or bundled with it, normally come with the prevailing supplier's warranty and Acer India does not provide warranty for such products.
      8. Warranty on lamp is restricted to 90 days only
      9. Acer India does not warranty error free or uninterrupted operation of the equipment

    1. This warranty shall be rendered null & void if:
      1. The product is physically damaged.
      2. The product is modified, maintained or repaired by a party not authorized by Acer India.
      3. The product is installed, maintained and operated in ways other than as recommended by Acer India.

How do expect the mother board to get damaged if everything is fine.
If the mother booard burns due to overheating, its not covered due to physical damage,

If the mother board damages due to a single fault electric supply ,its not covered.
(And in day to day when we go any where or any place everytime checking the powersupply is not possible.)

Now apart from these how else would u think the mother board could get damage.

ankkol2011 i have seen many faulty gpu's (due to the mass produce) and burned mobos getting replaced under warranty technically the normal procedure is if they cant find the fault they will always replace the mobo just to save time of locating the fault and in the report they might send you or not will only come hardware failure but not specifying what exactly most of the times

Thanks for mentioning that burned Mobos are replaced but according to the terms mentioned in the warranty, its clearly mentioned any burned ports are not covered in the warranty. Checkpoint (5.e)

And its already been 1 year for my laptop and now if the mobo gets damaged it will surely be due to any of the burned ports and not the mobo in itself.

And if the mobo would have been faulty it wouldn't have last till one year.

p.s: all these are just my opinion.
And in INDIA most of the service centres just don't want people to redeem the warranty they will find terms and conditions by which they could make the warranty null and void.

Well I know I am kinda late to this conversation but my motherboard has failed on me twice (and it's just been 11 months since I purchased the product). They did replace my motherboard (4 times bc 2 of the replacements were defective themselves) but the point is when it comes to laptops it's a gamble. Anything can fail any time irrespective of how you use it. And just putting it across, even though Acer's service is BS it's better to have your laptop insured than having to spend loads on it later. Now I am gonna have to extend my warranty soon.

    P.S I have a helios 300 (2019)
