No power to the display Acer Aspire E5 575G

Hello people, the few weeks im dealing with very annoying problem and i decided to look for help here. I have Acer Aspire E5 575G laptop, and one month ago one of the hinges broke. I continued to used the laptop no problems, but last week as i was watching something the display turned of, i closed and reopened the lid and it was working again, but after few hours the same happened and the display didn’t want to turn on anymore. The first thing i did was connecting the laptop to a tv via hdmi, and everything is working flawlessly, both of the graphics cards are working, but my laptop display is not showing in windows and also is not detecting. In device manager under “Monitors” i see Generic PnP Display, i tried uninstalling and installing it again, updating the drivers, updating the nvidia and intel gpus drivers but nothing is working. Next thing i did i opened the laptop and ordered new LCD cable, again with no luck, so i ordered a new display, again with no luck. I tried resisting the ram, resetting BIOS via the cmos battery, again with no luck. Then i looked really close on the motherboard and i cant see anything wrong around the connector for the display under it and nearby. So please if someone can tell me what i can do next. Thank you!

The ribbon video cable was the likely original issue. Did you disconnnect the battery before you replaced it with a new one? Jack E/NJ

Honestly i don’t remember, do you think it’s possible i damaged the new cable as well?

No, not the ribbon cable. But the inverter board for the LCD's backlight. The board is the other connector end of the ribbon cable from the mainboard. If you see no evidence of backlight bleeding (completely black screen) this may be the issue now. If you shine a flashlight on the screen, can you make out any images from reflected light? Jack E/NJ

No, i cant see anything, also i tried to connect the old display with the new cable, nothing. With the new cable and display, windows is detecting only my tv.

First HDMI a clearly recognizable image to the TV screen. Then see if you can make out the same image on the LCD screen in a darkened room with a flashlight. This should tell you if it's only the backlight board and not something more involved. Jack E/NJ

Yes, via the hdmi the image is perfect, everything is working, i even played some games just to try the nvidia gpu. I don’t see anything on the display in dark room using the flashlight

Use the FN+F5 toggle key combination to try to switch through 3 positions. (1) From TV screen on only (2) To LCD screen on only (3) To both screens on at the same time. Again using the flashlight to detect anything showing up on the LCD screen. Jack E/NJ

No i tried it before, i got nothing on the laptop screen

Not good. Did you also check to see if the webcam is working since it's part of the LCD video ribbon cable? Jack E/NJ

Yes the camera and the led light next to it are working perfectly...

The cleanliness of the connector contacts at the bottom of the screen is the most important. A gummy tape is usually used to help keep it in place. It may leave a sticky residue on the contacts when it is changed. Did you clean the connector contacts with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip before inserting the replacement cable? Jack E/NJ

Yes, i tried now with no luck, still not working. I’m wondering if need to order another cable... the original one had these numbers: DD0ZAALC021 LXP(SNN6-06) Rev:3
but i could not find the same so the one i ordered is: DD0ZAALC002 HLN F1 Rev:3A
on the outside they are completely the same.. maybe you can tell me what part numbers are compatible with my laptop so i can search for them... i don’t know what else i can do

The ribbon cable part number for a non-touch screen is 50.GDEN7.001. It is commonly used in many E5 and F5 series laptops. Jack E/NJ

No, its not even detecting that there is a display connected. It’s showing only the TV in windows. In device manager under “Monitors” its showing Generic PnP Display. I tried again updating the drivers but no luck there also...

Did the broken hinge put any pressure or touch any conductor traces on the inverter board or the mainboard? Jack E/NJ
