Hi, so my battery notification show that its "0% available (plugged in)"
I tried to unplug the power cable, it will tell that the battery level is very low, and then it will shut down. I wonder whats the problem? I've tried to charge it overnight too, but no result.

This has been quite a problem because i tend to bring my laptop outside where there is no place to charge it.
I'd be glad if there is any solution for this, thanks a lot.

There are two things that get out of whack with the newer batteries. Either the battery gets confused about what it's status is or the OS gets confused about the same thing. When it's the battery you do a reset and that typically clears it up. Disconnect power from the laptop, press and hold the reset button on the bottom using something like a paperclip for 15-30 seconds, release the button and go enjoys your favorite beverage for 15-30 minutes, reconnect the power supply and wait for it to show full charge and then turn it back on. That process resets the internal memory on the battery and it starts over. When it's the OS you do a few calibration runs. Run the laptop on battery until is shuts down due to low charge. Plug the power in and wait for a full charging indication then turn it on. Once it's done booting disconnect the charger and repeat he process. It might take a few times through but the OS eventually has good numbers again and it doesn't shut down early like it is now. I'd try the reset first then the calibration. This is kind of a normal maintenance thing that you should do every year or so...

I've had the same issue. I bought a new battery as my laptop died after 5 minutes unplugged and the new battery lasted 20 minutes, and then when put back on the charger I got a 0% available (plugged in) message.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the battery driver, then using the battery reset button underneath, and then found that the battery icon disappeared altogether. At this point the laptop refused to admit it had a battery (no icon on the task bar), but I found it would still run with the power disconnected.

So I switched off all the power saver settings in the power plan (no sleep/hibernate on mains or battery ) and let it run out of juice - took several hours. I've now just put it back on the charger and switched it on, and the battery icon is back on the task bar and it's charging - happy days!

Thanks to Billsey and all the other people who've posted advice on the forum - I hope this helps someone out.
