I got a new laptop model: A315-23-R3YX (NX.HVUEB.00A) and I was really hoping to use a SATA drive I have but to my surprise there are no connectors anywhere although I can see enough space.

I'm guessing I need to get some kind of "upgrade kit" that includes the PCB with the SATA ports? I've been looking but can't find anything for my model, can someone please where can I buy what I need? Thanks.

Yes, you may add a 2.5" SATA3 HDD or SSD with a SATA cable part no. 50.HGLN7.003 (about $15USD). If you were in the US or CA a mounting kit is available https://csapps.acer.com/kit-request/#submit that you may be able to get in Spain. But I suggest that instead you immobilize and protect the drive inside the case with antistatic foam like I do. I only use foam and don't use brackets inside my laptops. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for the answer. Is this the cable/connector, right? https://www.zandparts.com/en/Acer-50.HGLN7.003

It says it's for another model, A515-54, but its gotta be compatible, right? Since it's just a SATA connector and not a PCB, it shouldn't have any proprietary tech or anything that makes it incompatible, aside from the number of pins of the flat ribbon cable. Just to make sure.

It's a ribbon cable used on many different models. It's the exact same part no. 50.HGLN7.003 for the A515-54 model.   It is not called a printed circuit board(PCB), it is called an HDD ribbon cable.  No PCBs are involved. Jack E/NJ

Yes, therefore all the logic is handled on the mobo, not in the cable or connector, so my point being any cable with the same specs such as volts/amps and # of pins should work.

Yes, it's a common ribbon for an internal 2.5" SATA3 HDD or SSD. The only differences between part nos. are usually the length of the ribbon. As long as it fits inside and reaches each connector, any SATA3 ribbon should work. Jack E/NJ
