My ESI-512 POSY (2016) keeps popping up messaged that many of my drivers are outdated. Do I have to register with a paid subscription like WINZIP, or can I download/update the newest ones needed somewhere for free? Or, how important is it to even do this? My computer does not have any noticeable issues. Thanks for any help.

No. You've likely picked up a nuisance virus. Press WIN+R. Enter 'mrt'. This is Microsoft's malicious software removal tool. Do a full a scan on your hard drive. This should take several hours but should remove this annoyance. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for your help Jack. I ran the full scan as you recommended, however no malware showed. Could I  have outdated drivers etc.? And how could I update them? (for free if possible, or do you always have to pay for that?

No, ACER updates are free at this link http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers. You can also download and run iobit's DriverBooster freeware which will try to find recommended updates on line. Win10 updates will also automatically install new drivers when appropriate (sometimes innappropriate too). Please post a screenshot of the update message you're seeing if possible. Also, if you hover over the message, you can usually pick up website address that making the message appear. Jack E/NJ

Thank you so much again! I am a total oldie Luddite concerning all this technology, but also careful enough trying not to get scammed. I will do as you laid out! Thanks again!!!
