Can't find .exe driver for my new Predator XB253Q monitor

Just bought the above monitor and can't find a .exe  file for it. I went to Acer support for the monitor and downloaded the proper file. When I extract the files from the folder all I find is security catalogue file, an icc profile file and a setup information document. There is no .exe file. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

You likely just have the display of known file extensions turned off, as is the default for Windows. The .inf file is the Setup Information Document.

  • Hello,
You have to update the monitor driver from Device manager with the file x.inf .

Thanks for the quick reply. I feel like an *****. I can find no x.inf file. The file is a zip file. When I extract the files all that are shown are as above... security catalogue file, an icc profile file and a setup information document. There is no x.inf file. Obviously, doing something wrong, but can't figure out what

Did some more research on this problem and this is how i fixed it.

Go to device manager and right click on generic monitor. Click update driver software. Click browse my computer for driver software. Click let me pick from list of device drivers. Uncheck show compatible hardware. Click on have a disc. Navigate to folder with drivers. Click on correct driver and install.

Ok. So there was no way I could find the .inf file in the driver download from Acer. Don't know why. But the file did appear when I did the above. Monitor is in Device Manager now.

Caution. I checked for driver updates for XB253Q monitor and it went back to generic. Don't know why, but frustrating. Redid the above.

    Hello,
I downloaded the driver from the Acer website and I can see the .inf file:
