Hello Community,
I use my Aspire A515 to project video to my TV. However, at the start of every session, I have to delete the device in settings, and add it again. Yesterday, I deleted the device once again, and then when I went to add, my laptop could no longer find my Samsung UN50MU630DF under "add wireless display or dock"....  I don't think it's a problem with the TV. My phone can still connect with it.  But I am unable to update the bluetooth driver on my laptop as there is no icon in Settings.

What should I do?  Thank you in advance!

Open ControlPanel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in left pane. If SystemProtection is turned on in the box that pops up, click SystemRestore button. Click next. Do you see a restore  point with a date stamp of Nov 25 or 26? Jack E/NJ

    Hi Jack,
Thank you for your recommendation.  There was no restore point on Nov 25, 26. The previous restore point offered was on Nov 20. Should I select that?

    Yes. A few times.

Well, probably wasn't due to the Nov 20th update. But its restore point should bring the system back to the way it was on Nov 20th. You'll lose any personal info or stuff you installed since then unless you back it up first. If the problem remains after using the Nov 20th restore point, then it's a likely hardware issue either with the laptop or the TV. Just because your phone still connects to the TV doesn't mean much. Unless it also depends on a bluetooth connection. As far as I can tell, the TV should work on either bluetooth or wifi connections so if the phone is wifi connected it could still be the TV's bluetooth module. Jack E/NJ

Thank you again, Jack.  I tried changing the restore point date. It took about 1 1/2 hours to process last night. Did not improve the situation.  So I tried updating software on my TV.  Now that became a problem. Called my Internet/Cable provider who walked me through fixing the software update. Then they had me shut off the TV and disconnect power.  Still did nothing for the bluetooth connectivity situation.  . . . . .so they transferred me to Samsung. . . . . who asked me to disconnect the TV while it was turned on, rather than shut it off first, then disconnect  . . . . . . That did the trick!! Now bluetooth connectivity is working. Their explanation was "The TV got tired."  "The correct way to restore connectivity with bluetooth and wifi is to pull the plug, rather than turn the TV off and pull the plug."  OK . . . .

Anyway, thank you for your time. :-) I did not expect this to be a TV issue as I've had problems from time to time with the bluetooth software drivers on my A515.

Thanks for reporting back on the fix. Hope it works the same way the next time it happens. Often doesn't in my experience. Bluetooth can be tricky sometimes because it's really not meant to be fulltime when it doesn't detect or loses a bluetooth signal from another device. So it shuts itself off even though it looks like it's still paired.  Jack E/NJ
