Hello! after turning off my acer aspire a315 55g on Windows 10 x64, the laptop turns off, but the cooler turns on and starts working loudly. How to fix it?

Open ControlPanel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' Scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup. Save. Then shut down Windows normally to test. Jack E/NJ

Enter your machine's full model number A315-55G. Then check if any BIOS updates specifically address this shutdown issue. For some reason, I cannot access this site from my region for the past few hours to check it for you. If no updates that address this issue, then report back here for some other things we can try. Did this problem happen suddenly for no apparent reason? Or has it always been this way? Jack E/NJ

I have been using the laptop for almost a year, but this problem arose a few months ago, I disconnected the battery to be able to turn off the laptop as it will hum until the battery loses power

Might be errant Win10 update with a restore point that's probably already been deleted if SystemProtection was turned on. Check to see if ControlPanel's restore point app still has a restore point with a date stamp approximately when the problem started. If it was more than about a month ago, it's probably already gone. No. That's not what I mean. Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane. In the box that pops up, is System Protection turned on? If yes, click on the System Restore button. Click next. Do you see an automatic update restore point with a datestamp that coincides approximately when this problem began? Jack E/NJ

SystemProtection should be turned on for the restore point app to work. Let's try this. Instead of shutting down Windows normally, logout or signoff Windows. Then click on the login screen's power button and shut down Windows from the login screen. Then turn the machine on again to boot into Windows normally. Then shutdown Windows normally. Does the fan now stop after a few seconds? Jack E/NJ

Since disconnecting the battery, have you ever tried to re-connect the battery again to see if it now behaves normally? If not, try it. If the fan still doesn't shut off, then remove the charger and insert a paperclip into the battery disconnect pinhole on the bottom to try to stop the fan. Jack E/NJ
