When I am gaming my CPU usage doesn't reach over 50 but the temperatures reach over 90 and cause overheating which makes my frames drop by a lot when I'm gaming. Are there any ways to fix this?

What model laptop do you have? Its a bit hard to advise you when you make no reference to your product. But, most laptops are designed for temps above 80c and have a safety that they turn off. Its always a good idea to clean your fans from dust/felt and repaste your cpu/gpu with a high quality paste like the thermal grizzly NEW Kryonaut Extreme which is a very good high end gaming paste for high temps (using the "Pea Dot" method of repasting) and also “if the temps get too high” like temps above 90c then get a laptop tablet cooler that will increase fresh air ventilation into your laptop.

How efficient is repasting and how many times would I have to do that if it runs out and how to know if the paste runs out or drys up?
