I have also lost sound on this laptop. I need to enlarge my root partition but cannot get to BIOS so I can force boot from an install disk, then run gparted.

I have a dual boot setup, running Manjaro Linux (kernel 5.9.8-2-MANJARO (x86_64) as my main OS; the default Win10 remains, but I have lost access - no grub access at boot. It goes directly to Linux. The keyboard works just fine. No malfunction detected in the F2 key.

Research I have done suggests that this is a firmware update problem, but I am far from competent in diagnosing such matters.

One suggested solution I found was to remove the CMOS battery, wait 3 minutes, then reinsert it. This, it was said, would force a reinstall of the factory BIOS, and I could go forward from there.

Suggestions, please?

Due to GPT/UEFI BIOS of your Swift SF314-54 BIOS access is limited and is not like through an MBR/Legacy BIOS e.g. with keys F2 or F12. Through Win-10 you can only get into a GPT/UEFI BIOS through Settings > Updates & Security > Recovery > Advanced Startup which I don’t know if you have through your Manjaro Linux (kernel 5.9.8-2-MANJARO (x86_64) as your main OS as you can’t access Win-10?

Try to remove the CMOS battery as that will not cause any damage (that is if you do it properly) and not short the + part of the battery to ground, always use a none conductive tool, as this will reset the BIOS. Have a look at these solutions as these posts have found various solutions to your problem:
