External GPU

Hello

Is it possible to connect an external GPU [ROG-STRIX-GTX1080-8G-GAMING] to my Acer Nitro 5 and if so, what's the best way to do it? I've found something about using Exp Gdc [relatively cheap] and an external PSU [which I already have].
Also is this Ryzen 5 processor enough to run more demanding games? [w/o overclocking it - I'm not doing that]. I've only used i5 or i7 processors apart from this one.

AMD Ryzen 5 2500U
RAM 8GB DDR4
AMD Radeon RX 560X 4GB
M.2 SSD 512GB
Windows 10 Home

Thank you

To run more demanding games which are lagging on the Radeon RX 560X?

I would suggest upgrading to 16* GB of RAM - 8 GB on windows 10 kills evens windows, let alone lag games.

I plan that as well as replacing the M.2 ssd with a 970 evo, but I need to know if the graphics could improve in any way by adding the external GPU... and if that's even possible on this laptop...
