Acer AN517 Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop 17"
I bought this laptop brand new from Currys UK Store in May 2020. Its my absolute baby. Works amazing.
I've gone to use it this morning and the T & Y keys have "pinged" off and they dont seem to go back on. I tried to clip them back in place, didnt work. The letters respond fine.... as you can see , just missing the covers for them lol...
Went to a local computer shop to see the issue. They said that I would need to replace the whole keyboard due to the make of it.

Currys have said that Acer do their own repairs. I tried to put in a repair request but it said it would take my request in.
Questions:
1. Currys stated this would be covered under their warranty as I have only had it 5 months.... Is this true? Will Acer charge Currys then?
2. How long will it take to repair/replace?
3. How do I put the request through?
4. Can I just get whole new replacement from Currys store? It seems so much bother sending off a laptop for twos keys that have come off which means it now has to have the whole keyboard changed.... Especially as I know I take good bloody care of this so I know for a fact this wasn't my fault.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

I know this is a forum. I just wondered if anyone had the same issue or knew answers to my questions as they may have had a repair done.

    FINALLY THE SOLUTION!

After months of facing the problem and keyboard failures, I decided to open my Acer Nitro 5. (AN517-51-56).

The problem is not a driver. It's just the connector lock. Maybe with the vibration and use it will drop. This lock is very cheap at low cost. And it will certainly come loose again.

You just need to push the pins upwards as in the arrow and image.

This is the cost for equipment with good hardware but with low quality parts.

Test it! I did it with my Acer on (not recommended) and in the same instant all the keys are working again.

    EM PORTUGUÊS (BRASIL)

    FINALMENTE A SOLUÇÃO!

Após meses enfrentando o problema e falhas no teclado, resolvi abrir meu Acer Nitro 5. (AN517-51-56).

O problema não é driver. É apenas a trava do conector.
