Hello guys .. So one day I was gaming on my laptop, after I was done playing my laptop just turns off and wouldn't turn back on. I sent it to a repair place, and they told me the GPU is fried.
Acer warranty is long gone. I was wondering what can I do in this case? Can I buy another 1070 gpu from Acer or something? Do I have to contact Nvidia? Or are my only options either sticking to the Intel card only, or get an external gpu?
I tried contacting Acer support, but since my laptop is out of warranty I had to talk to AnswerBy if I can recall the name correctly, and they told me to contact Acer store. Went to the Acer store page, and I could not see anything related to 1070. Before I live chat with them, I thought I'd try my luck here.

I hope you can help me cause it's a shame to give up and treat it as normal laptop from now on, not a gaming laptop.
Thank you.

I have a similar problem. All of a sudden I started getting errors and the system reboots. Reinstalled the graphics drives for the Intel on board graphics as the Nvidia 6GB graphics. Did a complete Win 10 reinstall. The Nvidia card is fried and cannot be replaced by the user. It is soldered to the motherboard. So, I am stuck with a very fast rig, but not a gaming rig.  Acer would let me return it under warranty, but after reading reviews of their warranty repair, I decided not to do it. Hope this was useful.

For your computer. If you need to replace the cooling system. Try it. Go to Amazon search

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, mine is out of warranty, so I guess I'm just stuck with it being just a normal laptop and maybe some light gaming.
