few devices are not yet ready for this update. I have tried updating mine and ended up with error booting into win. you may check if your device is compatible with this update.. If yes, then its safe to install.

Standard safe practice would be to take a clone of the drive with windows - windows is known to screw up quite a bit more than one can think.

Firstly, what laptop are you talking about and are trying to update? I’ve got Win-10 20H2 OS built 19042.572 which is the latest Win-10 update that I've had no problems with. I installed this updates on one ofmy laptops that is 7 years old which is an Aspire V3-571G laptop and the Win-10 20H2 OS built 19042.572 works 100% and perfect, there is no driver or any BSOD blue screen problems. I don’t know what problems people have as "error booting into win" is very unusual and must be a problem with their Win-10 system that has other problems and/or hardware problems that could be the determining factor(s) of these errors and faults with and updating to the new Win-10 20H2 OS built 19042.572.

I had also problem with upgrading to 20H2. Booting over 10minutes after failed upgrade. Flashing a new bios help to fix it and its working again on 20H1. (same version before updating)
I don't know if I should try it again or wait for next update. 20H1 support ends in a few days, so I will not getting new windows update anymore.
Someone with acer Aspire V5 succeeded with this upgrade? my model is V5-561G.

If you are on 20H1, skip 20H2. So not worth it.

20H1 will be supported until 21H2 comes out - 18 months or 6 feature releases.

1909 means you have support until 2103, so you are good.
