Whenever i turn on my Predator Helios 500 (PH517-51), Part Number NH.Q3PSN.003 the screen wont turn on. If i connect it to an external monitor, the external monitor works, but I can't do anything to make my laptop detect the laptop screen. However, if I turn off or restart my laptop while the hdmi is connected to the external monitor, the external monitor gets no signal either. This only started happening as recently as 3 days ago or so, but has been happening every time i turn off the laptop. The first time I could extend the screens then choose to duplicate the laptop one, however the 2nd and 3rd time the screen couldnt be detected so i coupd not do that. The 2nd time i just turned my laptop off and on with the power button, until it eventually worked. However the 3rd time doesnt seem to work no matter what i do. No matter how many times i try to turn it off and on, or how long i let it stay on, nothing happens. Oh also, the screen is on its just black. No mouse arrrow no nothing. Please help

Update: Have tried uninstalling predator sense and reinstalling nvidia drivers, none worked. I also found out that if i wait for the laptop to get to the windows login screen before plugging in the external monitor, the external monitor will always work. If i plug it in as the laptop first starts when the predator logo and music is playing, the 2nd monitor will get no feed from the laptop.

Not sure how to remove post, so just leaving a comment about me sending my laptop for repairs.

I had the same issue when starting my Predator.. Was about to close the laptop down in disgust when I realized I had my USB drive sitting on the laptop next to the mouse pad.
I moved it away and instantly the laptop screen 'returned'

Perhaps it doesn't like the extra magnetic field created by the drive - maybe conflicts with that of the mouse pad [didn't affect my previous laptop]
Either way - back to normal now:)
