Gateway DX4860 bios update

So my Gateway DX4860 has a LGA 1155 socket, and a acer-ipisb-vr-rev-1-01

since it has the LGA 1155 socket it SHOULD support the "Intel Core i7-3770K Quad-Core Processor 3.5 GHz 8 MB Cache LGA 1155", however when i boot with it I get 4 beeps. This is because the current BIOS (p02-a2) only supports sandy bridge cpus, not ivy bridge, even though the hardware literally supports it

I tried updating to p03-a3 from gateways sites but apparently (for some odd reason) its only for a newer model of the DX4860 even though they both legit have acer-ipisb-vr-rev-1-01 motherboards in them.

I tried flashing it from windows and boot, both times I get a "File Size Does Not Match Existing BIOS Size" error.

Is there any way to force the bios flash even with different bios size? p03-a3 is only 2.5 mb compared to p02-a2's 5 mb

I'll do anything even if it means modding the BIOS. Just want my 150$ on the new processor not to go to waste ;/
