this thing also happened to me in the past. but not quite often. it happened after wake from sleep or hibernate. i am not sure what it was.
my guess is that it was the Quick Access Application, but i am not sure.

Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point' Click 'create a restore point' left pane. In the box that pops up is System Protection turned on? Jack E/NJ

you have nothing to revert. you got no restore point.
your wlan adapter might be broken.
you can try to boot a ubuntu or fedora live usb and see if adapter show up there (it did not show to me, but it worths a try).
also, you can reinstall the windows.
as a last resort, you can buy an usb wlan adapter.
but before all of that: remove all acer related software.
    disable fastboot in power option
shut down the machine and leave it over night.
this is what  worked to me.

Try this. Shut Windows down normally. Remove charger. Gently insert paperclip into battery reset pinhole for about 30 seconds. Plug charger back in and see if wifi and bluetooth reappear in Device Manager. Also try pressing FN+F3 toggle key combo at the same time. Jack E/NJ
