Not sure if this is of interest to anyone but my 2013/14 Aspire XC600 Desktop has finally, and successfully, updated to Windows 1903 after being stuck on 1709 for the last 2 1/2 to 3 years. I have lost count of the number of times updates were attempted in that time always failing around 83%. I have now applied a futher update to 1909 (which took about 5 minutes). I am so happy!

Congratulations ! What have you done to overcome such a 2-3 years problem?

Hi! I had seen this problem discussed widely on the web: Windows Feature updates go as far as 70-90% then stop. You then have to turn your PC off using the power button and on start up it restores to your previous (existing) version. I gave up after a year or so and assumed that the build of the XC600 was just not compatible. I used wushowhide.diagcab to try to prevent the automatic feature updates as each attempt took up to an hour before failing. However, every now and then it would still attempt an update. A couple of weeks ago it started an update and I couldn't believe it when it just kept going past 90% and then went all the way and installed 1903. So to answer your question, I have not done anything except keep the PC in good running order and persevere. I am looking forward to seeing if it will install 2004 and 20H2.

Thought I would post an update in case anyone out there is running old PCs and having trouble updating. My Aspire XC600 has now updated to Windows 20H2. It took about 3 hours to go from 1909 to 20H2.
