How to log in to Acer tablet with mouse only

Hi everyone
I am currently recovering from surgery and watching Netflix on my Acer tablet/laptop which is on a table in front of the couch. Because I don't want to reach or stretch too much, I am driving the tablet with the mouse, which is fine...if I'm logged in. But for some reason there doesn't seem to be a way to activate the on-screen keyboard with the mouse at the point of login. Can anyone advise if this is possible? Seems like a no-brainer... of course you would want to be able to activate it with the mouse if you are working without your hands on the screen.
Any advice greatly appreciated! 🙂

OK, since it's active you can click on the accessibility icon at bottom right and choose the onscreen keyboard.

Which computer do you have? Is the mouse wired, wireless, WiFi or Bluetooth? The first two should work before Windows loads, the latter won't get initialized until Windows starts up, which is too late for the login prompt.

Hi billsey thanks for your response however I'm not really sure what you are talking about. The Bluetooth mouse is already connected and active on the login screen, but when the password field is clicked (using the mouse), the on-screen keyboard is not activated the same as when the password field is tapped by touch. Seems odd that a finger tap and a mouse click don't both activate the keyboard display! I don't think you can argue that they should both have the same result...? I'm not sure what you mean that the Bluetooth mouse is not active at this point... because it is.

Aha! Great thanks @billsey ! That's exacty what I needed. Strangely, when I booted up just now, my first click on the password field did prompt the auto-keyboard to display, but then subsequent clicks didn't... weird! So it's good to know about the access menu!
    many thanks
