There are 3 sockets on the motherboard, two black and one red (or perhaps the other way round), what is the difference? Away from home at the moment so unable to check. The SSD that contains the OS is shown in diagnostics as only being capable of 3Mbit transfer rather than 6Mbit. Could it be connected to the wrong socket?

    Hello,
    • Black connector: SATA II (3Gb/s)
    • Orange/Red connectors: SATA III (6Gb/s)
I think you have connected the SSD to the black connector.
