The current Bios is version P21-B2 and I want to have the option to enable UEFI. Am I correct in understanding that if I download and update to version P21-B4 then I will be able to do this?

The BIOS versions marked "Not for upgrades" can't be used to update an existing BIOS. I believe the correct BIOS update would be the P21-B4 and that your existing BIOS already supports UEFI boots. Your system is one that came with W8 and a downgrade to W7, not one of the early ones that only had W7 as an option.

    Thanks again billsey,

The update to P21-B4 went smoothly. I now want to change the boot mode from Legacy to UEFI, and am considering using EaseUS Partition Master to modify an existing MBR SSD to GPT without losing anything on the SSD. Are there any other issues that I need to consider?

There doesn’t seem to be an option to change BIOS mode on my desktop? None of the menus in the BIOS setup shown after holding down the del key during start up have this?

In addition to changing from MBR to GPT you have to create the extra partitions used in a UEFI boot (the 100MB EFI partition for sure). I'm not positive, but I believe you have to enable Secure Boot before you can change boot mode...

@aid12121 you should start your own thread using the Ask a Question button. What BIOS are you running now? Why do you think you need an update? Normally you just run the update program and let it do it's thing...
