Predator Helios 300 (G3-571) crashing after a few minutes of running software

My laptop has been running very hot lately and so I googled some solutions as to improve the temperature (it was near 100*c at times). It led me to this forum post ( https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/553494/predator-helios-300-cpu-overheating ) that recommended undervolting and I followed the advice here. At first I used Intel's software but then uninstalled it and cleaned it with CCleaner to use Throttlestop instead since people said it was better. People also recommended updating the bios so to be safe I only updated from 1.09->1.10 since people said that one helped with temperature issues.

It runs just fine idle. The issue is whenever I launch a game (main purpose of the laptop) it maybe lasts 5 minutes before the whole computer freezes and crashes and turns off. I've tried several and this keeps happening.

It does this even with no undervoltage activated (as far as I know since I removed the Intel Utility) so I am scared of it being the bios.

Please help me, am I totally screwed?
