Card reader on Veriton X2611G

I currently have a X2611G that has a card reader on the front panel above the USB sockets. I’ve bought a second hand X2631G and am awaiting its arrival. The vendor’s photograph showed it as not having the card reader there, in fact the front cover looks as though it was not fitted during manufacture.
Can the reader be added post production?

    Why is the card reader so important? I rarely use it( just tested it worked when my PC was new, never used it again, now put a piece of tape to it to prevent dust build up inside). Almost all devices that use SD ( or micro-SD) cards will have an USB cable to be connected to PC.  For micro SD cards, people can put it in an USB card adapter and insert it to USB port, thus it acts like an USB flash drive. It is only the regular SD card that may need a SD card reader.
    Even without a build in card reader, people can get an external one easily at rather low cost. I really doubt if it is really needed.

    All of the X2631G models had that card reader installed, so I'm guessing the seller either didn't do a good picture or there's a slide panel covering them.

    Just curiosity really, some photos of this model show the slot, others don't. I'll find out when it arrives but agree with you that
