The highest temp recorded on the CPU is 100.  Lower end is 63. (used 3 different utilities to check, since CPU-Z has issues in the past with the mobo)  Mid 60's should be ok under load, but when doing anything at all, even watching a youtube video, it will climb up to 100 in less then 10 min, and sit there for a while before the fan kicks on for 1-2 min and it drops back down for less then 10 min.  The only time it will sit at 63 is when literally nothing is happening and the monitors are sleeping.

The GPU is working fine, maxing at 71, usually sitting at around 51.

Also, as mentioned before the heat issues are correlated with performance problems, such as as it gets closer to 100, i will experience stuttering, framerate drop, and input lag.  While on the lower end, there are fewer, or no issues.

Also the site provided is the one that told me there is nothing to be done since it is out of warranty, cannot access chat, and i'm sure that i will have the same problem if i try to call them.
  • I do not see another solution! I think you should try to update the bios! Now, have you tried also upgrading windows 10 to version 1809? The bug may also be in windows 10!

Always keep my windows up to date.  I agree it probably a bios issue, but i cannot get a response from acer if i should update to A2 or B2 or A3 (the ones i found), and if it doesnt work there is no way i can repair it and will have to pay the overpriced service charge from ACER to fix it.  Also, running the update is what caused my PC to fail and have to send it to service where i got the wrong bios to begin with.

Read thru this from the beginning. I also agree with egydiocoelho  that when the fan stops, it does not necessarily mean trouble. But I suppose if it was mine, I'd probably try the ALT+F10 cold boot factory reset to see what happens before any Win10 updates have a chance to mess things up. Jack E/NJ

Neraidaphobia, have you tried updating to latest BIOS v.R02-B2?

I have the same issues I have updated the bios to current and still not sorted. I'm going to replace the CPU fan and see if that helps. I'll let you know when it's replaced.

Just leaving a note here, as I had similar problems and seem to have solved them.
It seems that the G3-710 fan gets worn down in the sense that after some time it cannot spin at low RPM. The G3-710 fan should always spin, but when it gets worn down, it cannot spin at the about 1000 RPM it normally would. In stead it's not spinning at all, and only when the CPU gets really warm (around 90-100 degrees Celcius) it spins up - probably because the bios then gives the fan full throttle which is enough to kick it and make it spin at around 4500 RPM.
Once the CPU has cooled down, the fan does slows down, but because it is worn out, it doesn't just stay at 1000 RPM, but in stead it shuts down completely - until the next time the CPU is too hot.
I solved the problem by buying a replacement fan (same model as in the G3-710 - they are not produced anymore, but I found one on Ebay), and simply replacing only the fan, not the heatsink (the fan is held in place by four small screws).
Alternatively, you will have to replace the entire heatsink/fan with another model, I guess.

Oh, I forgot to mention: The spare part is called DC.10811.012 (somtimes without the ".")
