    Hi Rift - Which SSD did you eventually use? A NVMe ..... or the SATA version? ... Have your measured your Crystal Disk Mark score? The Acer E15 E5 575G PCIe 3.0 slot is only a x3 channel, and NOT a x4 channel. So your NVMe SSD will only achieve 3/4 of its rated speed - but this will still be at least twice as fast as an SATA SSD, which only has a max speed of about +/- 500 MB/s. I fitted the Crucial P1 NVMe and it worked well. I achieve about 1500 MB/s instead of its normal rated max of 2200 MB/s.
    *** Removing CD optical drive: I wonder if a person removes the CD optical drive if the PCIe slot we are discussing here, then reverts to x4 channel??? Any advice would be appreciated.
