Hi, my fn key is off and I can lower the volume on the laptop without pressing the fn key...
Is there any way to turn on the fn key so, to lower the volume(F9) i have to actually hold the fn key...

I don't know how to acces BIOS setttings on this laptop.

Any help is appreciated

Hi HellGate, to turn the Fn key on, you have to hold Fn and then press Esc or whichever is your Flock key. I'm pretty sure only Dell laptops have a lock symbol under the function key. If this method did not work try the 2nd method.

    Method 2
To access the BIOS, when you turn on your laptop after a shutdown, press F2 or Del key when you see the Acer Logo - this will lead you to your BIOS settings. Then go to configuration I think or have a look around and find the HotKey Mode.
    hotkey mode disabled
Change it to Disabled if you want to hold Fn Key + function Keys (e.g Fn + F9 for volume) then press the keys at the bottom to save and exit.
save and exit press fn f10
To save the changes. If you get an exit saving changes button, press Yes. Restart your laptop and the changes will be saved.

Let me know if it worked or didn't work!

the second method worked partially I didn't have the Hotkey mode but I do have function mode, apparently the function key was in media mode, not in function mode so thanks a bunch!
This helped a lot! so once again thanks!
