Hi,
i've got a Aspire VN7-572G-54YG that is only turning on sometimes and then randomly turns off. It won't turn on at all without the charger connected. The "battery charging LED" is not turning on, only the blue power LED turns on when the laptop boots up. I tried opening the laptop and checking for some loose cables, but no changes so far.
Is there any idea you guys have or thing i could try?

Go to the elevated command prompt.  Enter 'powercfg   /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Compare design capacity with full charge capacity. Post screenshot of the top portion of report if possible. Jack E/NJ

Unfortunately the unit does not start at all right now. Also there currently isn’t a windows copy installed. But the laptop should start up even when the battery is dead as it is connected to the power plug? Or am I wrong?

If the battery has a short, not necessarily. Try to start it without the battery connected. Jack E/NJ

I opened the laptop, disconnected the battery, still no sign of Life.

Check the voltage output of the charger plug's outer ring and center conductor with a multimeter. Should be about 19v DC. Jack E/NJ

It could be that the motherboard or CPU is dead, just an idea.

Ok i got a Multimeter and measured that the charger starts at 20v DC but the voltage goes down continuously to 0v DC. Does that mean the charger is broken?

Let's hope it  stays on. Your charger however still seems to need replacing if  it's output isn't steady 19v DC Jack E/NJ

The replacement arrived and it seams like only the issue with the button remains. Is there a way to disable having to have to button pressed all the time? And what is the purpose of this button?

It's a safety switch that cuts all power to the mainboard if the bottom cover is removed or misaligned. The bottom cover must be properly installed to press the switch to keep the mainboard powered. If the cover doesn't press hard enough against the switch, you can put tape on the inside of the bottom cover so it presses harder against the switch. Jack E/NJ
