My laptop is run out of warranty, I decided to upgrade and replace the stock RAM: Hynix HMA81GS6AFR8N-UH DDR4-2400 CL17-17-17

I choose between models:
HyperX Impact HX426S15IB2K2/16 2x8GB DDR4-2666
JEDEC/PnP: DDR4-2666 CL15-17-17 1.2V / DDR4-2400 CL14-16-16 1.2V
-------------------------------------------------------------------
HyperX Impact HX429S17IB2K2/16 2x8GB DDR4-2933
JEDEC/PnP: DDR4-2933 CL17-19-19 1.2V
-------------------------------------------------------------------
HyperX Impact HX432S20IB2K2/16 2x8GB DDR4-3200 (Is it even possible?)
JEDEC/PnP: DDR4-3200 CL20-22-22 1.2V

What RAM is better to buy?
I'm leaning towards DDR4-2666 but I'm not sure, maybe this laptop can do more than I think about him? B)

CPU supports up to 2933MHz so it`s up to you to decide which one to get. But for AMD is valid - the faster RAM the better

    Thanks for your reply, batmalin
Yes it is, CPU supprots up to 2933MHz according to specification.
But what about laptop BIOS? it supports 2933?

The BIOS has nothing to do with the memory speed in this case as the memory controller is in the CPU. The BIOS is not limiting  it at all

batmalin It's a good news. Logically, what you say should be true.
Unfortunately I have no room for error. Since the buyer's policy in my country doesn't give the right to return this type of product, I mean RAM, if it doesn't have a defect but simply doesn't fit me or doesn't work as I want

The confusion in my head was caused by a review of this laptop on an AMD CPU, https://3dnews.ru/981471/obzor-acer-predator-helios-500-ph51761-igrovoy-noutbuk-nastoyashchego-fanata-amd it says that the laptop has stock Kingston 2666 RAM, but it still works like 2400. Since the RAM model of Kingston is not said, which is very strange, and for the same reason I cannot trust this review

If anyone has REAL experience of installing 2933 RAM modules in this laptop please write

Yeah seems that there might be a limitation since is a desktop cpu in a laptop, look here the tests with the different variations of compatible ram. https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Acer-Predator-PH517-61/99053

    Interesting statistics.
I see also that there is not one case 2933. It's sad
I can't believe that no one in the world has not tried 2933 RAM upgrade.
But there is good news, I saw that 2666 really supports this laptop.
I checked what kind of model Kingstone ACR26D4S9D8MD-16, and this is something like an old version that appeared before Kingstone HyperX Impact series. It also works at 1.2v and has CL19-19-19

HyperX is a model with an XMP profile, which is disabled in BIOS for Acer laptops(even for gaming ones), so it doesn`t make sense to get those.

But HyperX have much lower latency timing
    Here's an example:
    • JEDEC/PnP: DDR4-2666 CL15-17-17 @1.2V
     DDR4-2400 CL14-16-16 @1.2V
     DDR4-2133 CL12-14-14 @1.2V
    • XMP Profile #1: DDR4-2666 CL15-17-17 @1.2V

AMD has problems with XMP but no problems with PnP

I read a feeadback one person who uses Helios 500 Ryzen r2600 CPU with HyperX 2400 RAM it great works for him with CL14-14-14 1.2v. But he was buying this RAM at a big discount. In my case, all modules have almost the same price +/- $5-10

batmalin i have to correct u here all ryzen mobile only support 2400 max and hyperx has xmp 2.0 built in it will auto boost itself without the need of having xmp profiles  just explaining this to everyone that is no aware how hyperx works its not just a name as you stated and yes on the h500 ryzen its definitely limited in the bios to 2400mhz max only unlocked/modded bios can support more speeds (which this isnt allowed to talk about in this community its against the ACUA)

RAID3R only 2400 max for ryzen get some hyperx 32gb dual channel at least as amd cpus are ram hungry and the lower the CL the better in your case cl14 for hyperx

I forgot to say, this laptop PH517-61 has a desktop processor AMD Ryzen 5 2600 https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-5-2600
There is another configuration of the same laptop but with a desktop processor Ryzen 7 2700

Earlier I accepted the answer batmalin, and the topic is solved. But later it turned out it is not accurate answer and possibly incorrect. I am writing this so that you don't have a misunderstanding.

In this connection, at the moment the question and topic still remains open

RAID3R would like to add that either the 2600 or 2700(X) they only support 2400mhz max its software locked via bios as i stated above and the max cpu supported its the 2700X theres no support for 3000 series

xapim Yes, as we can see from the link that batmalin showed, some kind of laptop maniac uses this with the 2700X :) if this is not an AMD Employee, maybe he is here among us, I have only one question for this person, is it possible to fry bacon on a power supply or not

About 2400... what about the theory that it will see RAM as 2400 but in real life the RAM will work as 2933 (HX429S17IB2K2/16) because exactly and only exactly this RAM HyperX Impact has such an opportunity and because the chipset and processor support this? what do u think about it
