Steelseries Arctis Pro headset's microphone not working with Nitro 5 AN515-54

I recently bought a Steelseries Arctis Pro headset and found the microphone wasn't being picked up whatsoever. Is it an issue with the drivers or something, or could it be the headset itself? Thanks in advance!

    Without the headset plugged in, right click on the speaker icon. Click recording device. Is the internal mic recognized? If yes, does it work? Now plug the headset in. Right click speaker icon again. Click recording device. Are two recording devices now listed? If yes, click on the headset. Jack E/NJ

    I notice that while it does detect the microphone, it will not pick up sound no matter what for some reason. I thought at first it was a problem with the microphone itself, but it does not seem to be the case as it does work with my xbox. I have selected the microphone as my default recording device and the chat channel as the default communications device, and it still won't pick up sound. I tried reinstalling drivers (that i found at least) and updating the usb ports but to no avail. Is it because it's a USB device and not a 3.5mm one? I still can't get it to work with any of the usb ports.

    Does the microphone work when you talk to CORTANA? Also, as your headste works via bluetooth or wireless, have you tried adding the device here?

    Does the microphone work when you talk to CORTANA?
    Unfortunately, no it did not. Matter of fact, even though it's being detected by the computer, it is not picking up sound. I guess it's important to point out the headset uses a USB cable too.
  • Still, have you checked if you need to add any usb devices here?

    If the earphones work but the mic doesn't, this is a possibility. Nothing wrong with the sound card if the internal mic works. Can you at least see and add the earphones as  egydiocoelho  suggests? Jack E/NJ

    Seems like it is here. I'm starting to think that the problem is either: The chatmix dial (image below) that comes with the Arctis Pro headset, or something about the USB ports not recieving audio input (but I'm not sure about that one).

    Doubtful. Your USB port detects the mic fine. It's waiting for input. Unless DeviceManager shows any red or yellow warnings, I'd return the headset to the vendor for an exchange or refund. Jack E/NJ

    Give up mate it won't work it's Acer's software. It's a fault that you cant fix. Trust me I've tried. Acer's response to me was to do all the steps of previously done ie: uninstall and reinstall all drivers ect or.......factory reset the Laptop lmfaooooooooo they have no idea just buy a new laptop from a different company 👍gg
