Acer T232HL causes BSOD driver power state failure

Hi I just brought the T232HL monitor and have connected to my laptop (ASUS G75VX) running windows 8 via the HDMI port and the usb port. It all works fine but if I use the laptop & monitor for any period longer than 30mins and I try to shutdown, it stays on the screen saying shutting down for several minutes then reboots with the following error displayed

Driver Power State Failure

Then if I shutdown immediately after that it will shutdown as normal. The reason why I think it is the monitor is if I use the laptop by itself or connect it to another monitor I own via the HDMI port I get no issues at all when shutting down.

Any ideas what might cause this, is the monitor faulty in some way?

Thanks for any help

Just an update, I tried connecting the monitor without connecting the usb, so no touch functions, still got the same error when shutting down.

I have another monitor that I have had connected to the laptop for months that causes no problems when shutting down.

Also noticed when I connect the original monitor in the device manager it shows up as Generic PnP Monitor, if I connect the Acer one it shows ups as Acer T232HL Monitor. From what i can gather Driver power state failure error seems to indicate a problem with a driver, so maybe their is a issue with the monitor driver? I can only find version 1 under the driver section for the monitor, is it going to be updated?

    Thanks for any help
