Hi, i have a older Aspire M3910 and Installed Win 10 on it 64 Bit I7 CPU and migrated all my old win 7 from another computer over to it and all works perfectly.
I can also send to another HD via a USB caddy and that is totally ok.
Problem was the Bios was set to RAID and boot drive was loaded under that and i couldnt get bios to see any extra drives put in SATA slots 3&4
So made changes in registry and changed bios to ACHI and Boot drive works fine BUT Bios still dosent see the drives and all i get is clicking and
cant even get into Bios now and after some time Windows boots up and they not seen there either. Tried 3 diff drives which i know are ok plus they cant all be bad logically.
Spoke to ACER and they said Win 10 not supported ect and that might be problem BUT boot drive/windows ect all working perfectly so
why cant bios see the extra drives and jamming the computer a bit? Boot drive is in sata 1 and DVD in Sata 2. both working correctly.
Acer told me only 4 out of the 6 sata slots actually work even though 6 are on board?? hmm
Thanks for any assistance.

In order to see the drives you will need to either get out of RAID mode, or join the new drives to a RAID volume.

I have seen people did it for another desktop with RAID volume. A rather complicated process. Don't think it may apply for your case, so I have no further comment.

Hi, thanks everyone for replys. I'v added drives to many computers and never had this much trouble and thought i miss something with Acer which i dont have much experience with?
Anyway after switching to AHCI, i could get 2 drives and a DVD to work and get to windows but then lost the internet Dongle and tried resets ects and its all very unstable and blocky so after days on this computer and no Win 10 updates for Bios ect from Acer, i decided to keep it for a backup up computer that works on 1 drive well, but Win 10 just isnt compatible and Acer said so although they might not have actually tested this board with win 10.  It use to work great win win 7 with 2 HD's, so i guess some old computers just arnt fully compatible?  It can handle another HD plugged in using a USB caddy, but connected to motherboard NO it seems!  Even the caddy sometimes is unstable but never on my other Win 7 Asus computer...
Have other computers and keys i can try and experiment on and better than going to landfill as many just throw them out and replace with newer models.  One thing about this MB, is it lost the clock even with a fresh battery in, so maybe got a dodgy Bios and frankly their instructions to flash the bios are a complicated mess and theres only Win 7 updates available anyway so will let this one go as a b/u computer only. Perhaps the lack of drives and instability is due to the bios maybe?
I Like Acer products anyway as have repaired some of their computers and LCD screens that stopped working so saved a lot of waste there and seems they are well made and durable just as ASUS and Gigabyte is
Anyone else got a 2010 era I7  MB to work fully filled with Sata drives and win 10?

I had a 13 year old DDR2 generation PC retired few months ago. Just like your PC, it started with the inability to retain clock even with fresh CMOS battery. Later on other BIOS settings could not be retained too. Sometimes it said Checksum Error, sometimes it said I have installed a new CPU. Had to enter BIOS every time and pressed F10 to save and boot up. Once in, all operations seemed normal. The BIOS chip was going, so it ended up in storage as backup.

Yes, i see some older boards have 2 Bios chips and crash free update ect is so easy and this Acer board like many just have one, so i can only conclude a inability to work with windows 10 or weak bios or circuit. However it runs all day with one drive and seems totally stable so i figure i might just install a 2TB drive and use that for everything; not ideal of course but i can use another drive by USB,  to backup to if needed so i can use this board but not as prime computer. Such is life!
you can but bios chips but for an old board and worn components, better to start fresh. i just asked a question here just in case any one has Acer boards before as these sites can be a wealth of info and no one knows everything and i constantly learning little registry tweaks and helpful software others have found useful. Internet is a wealth of info and not too! haha
