PH317-53 runs cooler on Modern Warfare without using turbo mode?

This may seem stupid, but Modern Warfare, being the vastly unoptimized travesty that it is, runs much better without overclocking or using 'turbo' button. I've been crashing lately every time I play due to temp, I'm assuming. I ran it today without overclocking and temp stayed at 75 with no issues or crashes. I've been doing this wrong all along, huh?

Not necessarily. If its due to temp as you say, turbo mode raises CPU power limit and overclocks GPU, hence higher thermal output regardless of performance. If enough cooling is provided, turbo mode should perform better.

The game seems to perform better in turbo mode but my temp runs around 84 and every time it reaches 84-85, MW crashes due to Dev Error 6068 which “can be caused by a corrupt DirectX installation on your System. It can also be caused by an outdated Windows, System Drivers, and non-optimal settings for the game.”

I run MW at low-to-medium graphics settings and regularly update my drivers. How can I stop running my game at PS3 graphics and keep it running?

    1) Try running the game as an administrator, you can do that after opening battlenet, right click on the game, go to file location, then run as admin.
    2) Set the game's priority as "high" in task manager.
    3) Try to "optimize" the game through GeForce experience and launch the game.

Some games just usually have some problem like this, example : Tomb Raider series with the whole graphics card is unplugged madness mid game. So maybe it's just the game, if it doesn't happen with any other game/application, you should be ok, although, what hardware do you have in your laptop?

The full specs for hardware can be viewed here:

I’ve set the game to high priority. I’ll try the other suggestions tonight. It’s been working mostly fine the couple times I’ve played since posting but I only played for a couple matches. I’ve considered optimizing through GeForce but never actually done it. Other games usually run fine but I don’t play anything heavily demanding typically.

I’m also aware the 8gb RAM should probably be upgraded but I figure I should be able to manage with what I’ve currently got. I’m primarily a PlayStation player as is.
