Lately my laptop has slowed down very much tho i try to clear all possible cache and files and try to stop all startup applications that arent required for the laptop.
It takes atleast 2  minutes to start. The laptop freezes every now and then. i thought it was my ram so i installed io bit software as a driver booster and to help me clean files in my laptop. It also has a ram clearing option. When the laptop freezes, i can move the mouse( an attached mouse) but not from my trackpad and i cant type anything either.

Thread was edited to add model name to the title

What is the exact model number of your laptop and give us the exact specs e.g. what cpu, gpu and amount of ram you have installed? As it’s impossible to advise you if you don’t give us those details!

Slowness of a system depends on what HDD you have e.g. if you have a spinner HDD instead of an SSD then that is the main culprit to slow systems booting and performance especially with Win-10, also, not enough ram is the second culprit and the third is how you maintain your operating system, have you got all the updates and if you are running allot of incompatible and conflicting software e.g. malware, anti-virus that has bloatware associated to it, as allot of software you don’t need and that is why your system is running slow!

i have the acer nitro ANS515-54 with 4gb ram ,1tb HDD, i5-9th gen, 1050ti graphics card.
I have gotten all windows updates till now and i always make sure i dont run any software i dont need i try to end their task in the task manager and as for startup applications i have removed it for almost all softwares except those which windows itself needs.

For a start 4GB DDR4 of RAM (get GPUz to see the exact specs of your OEM RAM) is far too low RAM capacity to run Win-10 and games on any system! A 4GB DDR4 RAM capacity was ok as memory about 5 years ago pre Win-10 but not now, try to increase your RAM from 4GB DDR4 to what you can afford and the appropriate amount of RAM in your Nitro AN515-54 and in its 2x slots, as filling the 2x slots with the same spec and capacity RAM will give you "Dual Channel" RAM which is faster. Btw, the best way to find out your mainboards MAX RAM is to go to CMD prompt and use it as an administrator and use this command:

    • wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity, MemoryDevices

The above example shows a figure of 8388608 which then you divide that by 1048576 = 8 whcih tells you that the maximum RAM capacity is 8 GB. If your motherboard has two memory slots, it means the maximum RAM capacity per slot is 8 divided by 2 = 4 GB per slot. this is the best way to determine your max ram capacity for your motherboard.

Note: RAM manufacturers are recommending a MAX RAM capacity of 64GB in its 2x slots (2 banks of 1) for your Nitro AN515-54, whcih I don’t know if its correct or not? So use the above CMD prompt example to find out and makesure, simple!

Hi, thank you for your help but i happen to have mistyped. I have an 8GB DDR4 ram. I'm really sorry for my mistake.
