Hi guys. Just have a quick question regarding my 3 months old Swift 3 SF314-57-5549. This issue happened literally yesterday.

So what happened was when i switched on my laptop, just after less than 5 seconds it will shut down again. However, the keyboard backlight is still glowing on and off, power blue led is still lit. Any attempt after that ends up with the same thing after few seconds. I tried to go into boot menu but it still shuts down afterwards on its own.

One time i managed to go into windows startup by constantly pressing the F6 button while waiting for windows to boot up. However if I released the button, momentarily after that the 'slide to shut down' bar will appear and windows will straight away shut down without me doing anything. Already tried to access the troubleshooting menu in the control panel to disable the shut down bar but was unsuccessful.

Please advise on any other solutions. Thanks.

I am having the same issues with my brand new Spin 5 i7 that Acer replaced. Its very frustrating and was going to start a thread but after researching, seems Microsoft 10 OS is the issue. I downloaded a program called mini tool box and ran it to see the issues and one issue that keeps poping up is skype. I thought I took care of it by not disabling skyp but now Ive had 2 laptop shut downs, screen turned at 100% and I couldnt move the screen or anything and it shutdown or the screen goes black and turns off within 2 minutes...........I am so annoyed

Been looking for solutions these past few days. Seems like this thing has existed for quite sometime and not just recently. A lot of posts/videos on how to enable this feature but none covered the possible solutions when this kind of error comes up. A lot of users are still struggling with this same issue.

The only existant solution that I found is to go to the control panel for the troubleshooting method but even that is 50/50. In my case, this does not help at all.

It is a Microsoft issue, since they own and support Skype. I'd just uninstall it if you aren't using it.

I went ahead to an Acer Service Centre last week. At first it didnt seem like they knew anything about the problem. They just categorized the problem as a broken keyboard issue. Didnt even check the error logs at the time. Fast forward to few days ago, i've gotten back my laptop. They really did just replaced the top cover/keyboard unit. Laptop works as usual up till now.
