A100 powers OFF when charger is connected

Original purchaser of Acer Iconia A100. Device was working great for a long time. Bumped it just so, broke LCD but not digital glass. Got LCD replaced. Device worked great again. Wanted to get second charger for work. Went to Radio Shack, Sales "tech" started plugging in all sorts of adapters, couldn't locate one to fit right. When I got home now my charger wasn't being recognized. Thought my charger was burned out. Ordered two more from ebay (one for home, one for work). Device doesn't charge with any of my three chargers. Figured the tech ruined the DC port. Ordered and installed a new one.  The charging LED does not light up when plugged in. If the device is on, as soon as the charger connects it shuts off. Battery power is now at 33%. Have ordered an Acer docking station to hopefully charge via the 40 pin port. Yes, I tried a Data reset from settings. Device is running ICS. Any ideas?

It makes no sense to spend 200.00 so Acer tech can just evaluate my device. I can buy a new one for less!

No, docking port did not solve problem. Problem is motherboarx. Ordered & instLled "factory refurbished" and now get the battery at 3% error and a flashing orange led. Vendor will swap defective board.
