ACER NITRO 5 AN515-43 Suddenly freezes then blinks then freezes again

I have recently bought a Nitro 5 from about a week ago and as I continue to use it, the unit keeps on suddenly freezing then blinks once, then continues the freeze of the screen. The only way I manage to continue to use it is by closing the laptop then opening it again. I have reset my unit and also recently updated its driver. A note though, the sound still works like the USB port connect and disconnect

  • Some users were reporting the same problem. I suggest you check the bios version:

    Some users were reporting the same problem. I suggest you check the bios version:

    It said my version of ROM file is the same version

    I've wanted to do this but I currently cant because of the virus

    Well this is not normal behavior for a one week old laptop, are you still in the return window?

    I believe I am, it has a warranty of two months, so I still have time, but while I still cant replace it I want to try fix it so I wouldnt have to get it replaced to the store where we bought it which is a 3 hours drive

    I can`t tell if it is a HW or SW issue, therefore if I was in your shoes then I would preffer to return it for replacement. You can try to reset the OS thou

    I did reset my PC, but I'm not sure if that's what you meant

    Yes that's what I did first, then after the reset I upgraded my Nvidia drivers, so far those 2 are the only fixes Ive made

    Nvidia is not the issue here because is not used for browse or youtube. I suspect your CPU/iGPU fault, hence my suggestion.

    Unfortunately it didn't work, but a good thing is, recently it hasnt froze again. From my observation, the unit usually freezes when after I open my laptop, I instantly open apps like chrome and whatnot, but now I haven't done that and let it wait for about a minute before I actualy use it and because of that the issue hasnt happened yet again.

    This could be a bad RAM as well, when it happens again better send it to Acer

  • Does the system tab of the windows event viewer record any specific errors? Does the same problem occur when restarting the battery? To do this, turn off the notebook, disconnect the power adapter and press the power for 12 seconds. If the problem still occurs, I recommend that you follow the suggestion of colleague @batmalin
    Now, I would try to update the bios to version 1.10. But because it is a risky procedure, it may not be the best option for you.

    It does not show the problem unfortunately, and if updating the BIOS is risky I'd rather not take the risk. I have decided to try and get it replaced because I still have the warranty. Thankyou for te advice and I'm seriously hoping it gets replaced. And yes the problem still occurs up to now

    I have the same issue unfortunately my return window and replacement is just 7 days I emailed the Acer and suggested to let them check the unit in there service center and Troubleshooting that you guys would suggest?

    It literally blinks one time then freeze I does have a sound but you can't do anything about it unless you hard reset or turn off the unit one thing if you do a alt+f4 method turning off like that and turning it back few moments later if freezes again.
