I have just upgraded the memory in my PO5 600S with 2 X 16GB and 2 X 8 GB all in the correct slots but in bios and storage it is only displaying 40GB. I have checked that there is no dirt, hair etc and they are all seated correctly. They all work as normal in my other desktop. Slot 1 = 16GB DDR4-2666 Dual Rank. Slot 2 = 8GB DDR4-2666 Single Rank. Slot 3 = 16GB DDR4-2666 Dual Rank. Slot 4 8GB DDR4-2666 Single Rank.
Any advice would be appreciated if anything is incorrect. Thanks

Well specs say you should be able to install the modules in any order. If you put only three sticks in, holding back one of the 8GBs, does it still show 40GB? If so try swapping the 8GB stick with the other one. If that also woks pull the 8GB out and put it in the other empty slot. We're trying to pin it down to a module or a slot that's the issue. You know both 16GB modules are working or else you wouldn't get to 40GB.

Hi. Thanks again for your help. I tried taking one 8Gb out and still the other displayed 4Gb plus the two 16Gb's. I tried the other 8 GB and same. I removed the two 16GB's and tried the 8GB's and again they reverted back to 16GB. I also tried the 8's in the other slots and I got 16GB again so it's not the slots. I just can't understand this. Would it cause this problem if the 16's are dual rank and the 8's are single rank.

It shouldn't, even if there was an issue with that I'd expect you to show 32GB instead of 40GB. So, the 8GB sticks are coming in as 4GB each? Are you sure they're really 8GB? :)

I have finally sorted it now. I tried everything possible and pulling my hair out so I reluctantly factory reset my PC and it is now showing 48GB. I would love to know what caused it to lose 4GB of both sticks.  Thanks again for all your help.

That is a weird one, I can't think of anything in the OS that would have affected it.
