I have a Acer Aspire 5742 running on windows 7.

Recently i got a new harddrive, now when i try to use the webcam, it says it's not found.
I've download the files for the camera but it still gives me an error message. Did i do something wrong while downloading? I clicked the setup file and it downloaded "the webcam" but when i restarted m computer to try to ope the webcam it says that there was no webcam on my computer.

i have a camera built into my laptop

Can anyone help me? It is required that i have a webcam for my online classes.

Thank you!

-Kristina

Check 'Control Panel > System > Device Manager > Imaging devices' and confirm that the harware is being detected.

If you see the device with a yellow flag then it's likely that you have no driver installed. You may have downloaded a driver for the wrong hardware.

Check which webcam you have - Chicony, Suyin or Liteon. Use the harware detection program on the downloads page if you have trouble.
