Acer S3-391 upgrade to Windows 8 restart/shutdown problem

I upgraded my ultrabook S3-391 to Windows 8 Pro from Windows 7. Having problems as such:

  1. If I left my ultrabook idle for some time, I'll have problem shutting it down or restarting. Blue screen will appear while it restart/shutting down and it takes ages. I'll have to force shut down by pressing the power button until it shut down.
  2. The USB sometimes work and sometimes just didn't work.

Anybody out here having the same kind of problem?

Anybody can help me to solve this problem?

Thanks.

Have you installed any other software that could be causing your bluescreens? Did you use the Acer upgrade assistant when you upgraded to Windows 8? If not, it is highly recommended you run the assistant prior to loading Windows 8. Have you installed all of your device drivers for Windows 8? You can download them at http://www.acer.com, click on Support, then click Drivers and Manuals.

I have exactly the same issue minus the USB problem, that was sorted through a little tinkering with windows settings.

But I still have the shutdown issue, I have used the update assistant and have downloaded and installed all of the relevant drivers for my ultrabook yet still have to manually shutdown using the power button on an almost constant basis. Sometimes restarting and shutting down helps but not always. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!
