I recently bought an Acer Nitro AN515-54 just about a month ago. Since some time, the fan speed of the laptop has been over 4000RPM most of the time and sometimes even 5000RPM too.I updated my bios to the latest version(1.23) and have even performed a hard factory reset but the problem still persists(Even when the windows had just reset, and i hardly had any apps, still there was no change in the fan speed).I can assure that there are no background apps running and my CPU usage is hardly 2 or 3% unless gaming. I even use ubuntu as dual boot and i face the same problems? What is causing the issue?

Sorry but that information changes nothing. Once again this is a Hardware problem NOT software. Use your warranty and get it fixed by Acer. We can't fix hardware only a Tech can.

Not sure why this is happening ? Is it because of the bios update?Because it only started recently

No it is not the latest BIOS update, there have been no reports of this problem from other users who have the latest BIOS update.
This is a hardware problem, idle fan speed should be around 2500 rpm. The fan speed is controlled by 2 temperature sensors one each for the CPU and GPU. You probably have a faulty sensor. I advise using your warranty and getting it fixed.

When i turn on the laptop the fan speed is fine for some time, but after 5-10 minutes or after some time while browsing the net the fan speed goes over 4000rpm and even when i close everything ,the fan speed does not go down, even when left idle for a period of time!

Hello sir, I am facing similar issues like fan speed moves to 4200+ rpm while my laptop is in idle state even I was only browsing or else it was completely idle . This was happening after OS update to a lastest version. So it is hardware issue or software one?
