Hi guys, I recently performed a clean install of windows 10 because I messed up with the registry. The installation was successful and the machine is working fine. However, I noticed that when I choose the option to use "second screen only", the performance drops. As in, everything is laggy. While before, it works just fine. Please help!

o2jao firstly why have u messed up with the registry ?? thats one of the things no one should mess with if they dunno exactly what they are doing can cause the system to create loads of errors secondly have u created a stock recovery drive before you formatted for safe keeping or have u used acer stock recovery for a clean install ALT+F10 on boot or have you deleted the recovery partition and used media creation tool if this was the case you lost the acer recovery forever please explain in detail what and how have u done it

    Hello, thanks for your reply.

Firstly, I was trying to create a family profile for my kid so she can use it for her online classes.

Then, I tried setting up the permissions of other folders and drives of the computer via properties>security, but instead, it got messed up where even my admin profile couldn’t access them anymore.

So I followed some steps online to fix it and a website suggested me to download a file where it automatically ran the cmd. (Which I really don’t know what happened.) After that, I couldn’t boot up my pc anymore to the desktop.

I tried performing a recovery bia F10 but the recovery partition is also corrupted.

Hence, I used a different computer and created a recovery media tool on microsoft’s website.

I followed the instructions and successfully wiped out everything on the computer and had a clean install of the OS.

Then I updated everything as in drivers and windows. However, when I tried using my second monitor, there performance isn’t the same anymore as stated above.

    Hello,

    Update

I have tried uninstalling my RTX graphics driver by using some sort of software to remove it completely from the machine and manually performed a clean install by downloading the latest driver on the website as suggested by an Nvidia agent. However, the issue is still the same.

Anyone who can help me, please?

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I tried what you suggested, however, the issue is still the same. Could this be caused by reinstalling windows using the media creation tool from Microsoft? If so, do you have an idea where I can download or get the default recovery tool for my machine?
