I have an acer apire 3 A315-54K-30ZX, BIOS InsydeH20 Rev 5.0, and i'm trying to install windows on it, but the windows installer doesn't seem to recognize the hard disk, i had similar problem with another laptop from another manufacture but once i change the hard disk mode to AHCI in BIOS it got fixed, for some reason my acer laptop doesn't have that feature, in fact the advanced setting bar in InsydeH20 is kinda empty it only has 2 Intel virtual settings, i would be really grateful for you help.

The BIOS must be in UEFI mode (not legacy), the hard disk must be  gpt partitioned (not mbr partitioned) AND the hard disk MUST be recognized in the BIOS Information tab under any circumstances. Jack E/NJ

the bios is in UEFI mode, both the hard disk and the USB for the windows install are GPT, the hard disk is recognized in BIOS information tab

What Windows installer? Where'd you get it? You must either  use Microsoft's Windows10 media creation tool https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 or setup a GPT FAT32 Win10 USB installation iso using Rufus freeware for a UEFI/BIOS machine. Jack E/NJ

Do a new installation USB media and follow these steps, this is for a  "Windows 10 UEFI boot media using Media Creation Tool"

    1. Open Windows 10 download page.
    2. Under the "Create Windows 10 installation media" section, click the Download tool now button to save the file.
    3. Double-click the MediaCreationToolxxxx.exe file to open the tool.
    4. Click the Accept button to agree to the Microsoft terms.
    5. Select the Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC option.
    6. Click the Next button.
    7. (Optional) Clear the Use the recommended options for this PC option.
    8. Select the correct language, architecture, and edition of Windows 10.
    9. Quick tip: If you'll be installing Windows 10 on multiple computers running 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, then use the "Architecture" drop-down menu and select the Both option.
    10. Click the Next button.Select the USB flash drive option.
    11. Click the Next button
    12. Select the removable drive from the list. (If you don't see the drive, click the Refresh drive list option.)
    13. Click the Next button.
    14. Click the Finish button

Once you complete the steps, the tool will download the required files and create a bootable USB flash drive with the Windows 10 installation files with support for UEFI and BIOS.

What do you mean by custom? Where'd you get the iso? If not from Microsoft or ACER, that might create issues. Jack E/NJ
