Hey guys, Hope all safe and well. With throttlestop profiles i managed with the overheating issue for nearly 1.5yrs in my Predator Helios 300 and now since my warranty is over...i was thinking to repaste...But suddenly i had 1000s of my ant inside my laptop, i was just shocked to see so many of them inside. So i made up my mind to open the laptop backdoor and cleaned them up with just a brush..so then i decided that i almost opened the laptop so its time for the repaste!!! YEAHHHHH!!! Cooler temperatures from now on..so i ordered the arctic mx4 paste from amazon and with the help of our hero Hotel Hero's video in youtube i repasted successfully(although i think i applied a bit too much in the gpu ) !! Now im gaming with it, everything's going good, when i check the temperatures at max load it stays under 80 or 82 and idling at around 40-50 Celsius...but now the doubt is that when i touch the laptop (space above the keyboard), its really quite hot but the cpu and gpu temps are fine (within 80) as i checked with predator sense..so whats the deal with it? Am i doing good or anything to worry about?? Also i made a DIY Laptop cooler for my predator .
.
.
ALso a new problem yesterday, when i toggle bluetooth on off continuously from the notification panel, the windows is throwing me an BSOD with KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE...also i couldnt find any driver updates for the bluetooth hardware..so i just thought of reinstalling the driver..Any helps would be appreciated :3 !!

So many things here man! :D

So I take it you hadn't opened the laptop before? Have you taken pictures of all of those insects living (or dead) in there? Just curious, it must have been a sight never to forget haha.

Anyway, feeling the keyboard hot, specially where the parts that produce heat (CPU, GPU) are is not uncommon nor something to be worried about, it's just that being a laptop there is not that much space between them and the top part so heat is conducted that way as well. When I first read the title of the thread I thought you meant the chasis as in the laptop's underside, not above in the keyboard; but yes, it is to be expected.

Now that other issue, why would you be toggling continuously the Bluetooth switch?! :D

By the error message you're getting it could be the result of a race condition in some kernel code, who knows, but if we're to help you finding updates for the hardware you have you must tell us which one it is. There's a myriad of cards that could be installed in there (although lately for these models it could be Intel or Qualcomm).

Post a screenshot of the IDs of your Bluetooth adapter and some information on what the current version of the driver is:

HI @aphanic , Thank you for your kind reply buddy!!! Yes, I didn't even have enough guts to open the RAM or HDD Backdoor itself when my lap was under warranty  :# lol !!! But once i found so many ants coming out from my laptop, i had to go right away and open the laptop bcs if left untouched, maybe the ants could get electrocuted and short my components as i read from the internet. I'm attaching some pics i took when i opened the lap :D

Just Look how these little guys tried to ruin my laptop...So many nests too :o  .It has also eaten most of my thermal pads...
So i tried cleaning with my D-SLR Lens Brush which has quite soft bristles...Here are some after Pics..

I cleaned the laptop with the brush and wiped the nests off and i applied ant killer chalk around the laptop edges to prevent them from entering again..
Ok coming to bluetooth issue, yes you're right why would i be toggling again and again lol right !!! I just wanted to clarify whether I'm having any serious problem to fix..so i wont be toggling or messing again with it lol although i reinstalled the driver again today for it...Posting the screenshot below...
The Driver version is - 20.30.0.3

Some pics of my new DIY Cooler and Re-pasting Gallery...

    Thank You...

Thank you for the pictures! It's amazing! They seem to had a preference for the hot areas of the machine, like those VRMs? I had certainly never seen anything like that, some dead bugs inside of machines yes, but not so many ants and alive even!

I like your DIY laptop cooler too by the way, are those 5v fans and is it USB powered? Because you used PVC pipes you could even use batteries inside to power the thing.

The position of the fans is static I think, tailored to that machine, but for some reason made me think of an old Coolermaster I think it was, that came with 3 little fans like yours and a grid so you would put them wherever you wanted to (or rather, wherever the hot areas of your laptop or air intake was). The good thing is that you can probably put the whole assembly on your lap and not touch the fans, some commercial laptop coolers are made to be set in tables or similar surfaces but not on your lap/legs.

For the Bluetooth issue, in case it fixes it I have attached the latest release for your card, give them a try if you want, but I have no idea what could be causing those BSODs. By the way, as long as it's not something that happens regularly I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi again @aphanic , I installed the driver you mentioned buddy but I'm not messing with the toggling thing again. I'll turn it on if i need or else will keep it off.
Yeah those ants like almost colonized the area near my VRAMs as you can see the picture that my thermal pads are completely damaged. Actually i didn't find thermal pads in my local Computer shop or else i would have replaced that too. But for now i have just changed the Thermal Paste to Arctic MX-4 and just placed the cooler, didn't change the pads and all...

Actually TBH, its my mistake too as i didn't use my laptop  for around an year..It was just kept inside the bag and not even touched which is the reason these ants might have colonized my lap..Actually i got this laptop as gift after i finished Schooling..I thought i would enjoy gaming with it after my school days. But now I've entered Medical College and I'm a medico now...So Couldn't find time at all for playing those AAA titles...Since due to the Pandemic, now the country is under lock-down so i find time and I'm using the lap for gaming and showing some concern to it =) or else maybe i could have found birds, nests, chicks or even some rodents inside it lol :p  ...

The DIY Laptop Cooler Fans are 12V CPU Cabinet Fans which i found in my local computer shop and i just screwed them to a beading and attached it to the Arms of the PVC Pipes..So basically its static and its Powered by a separate 12V Adapter which i bought separately in electronics shop. I also added a switch at one corner of the Laptop Stand as shown in the pic for toggling it off and on...Actually i chose that position because that's the area where the internal fans of my Predator Helios 300 suck air for circulation, so i attached the fans there pushing air to the laptop's internal fans so that there is adequate supply of air to the internal fans.. I'm thinking of adding two more fans beside it in the left side but this time I'll have to place the fans in reverse direction so that air is not pushed inside the laptop motherboard but instead it is sucked from the ventilation grill and expelled out..So 4 fans are gonna work in a bidirectional way (2 (LEFT) of them sucking air from laptop vent grills and 2 (RIGHT) of them pushing air to support the laptop's internal fans). =)

About the battery thing, Actually i dont need batteries for pushing them because i use my laptop like a desktop only so it is always connected to power and i have large power strip with many sockets too...so no worries about power supply!! =) and yeah this stand which i made can be used in lap as well no issues cheers !!! =)
