My laptop model is helios 300 g3-571-77qk (2017 model).

I am having two big questions that i could not find the answers,It will be very helpful if somebody
helps me.

1).Samsung has its fastest pcie gen 3 m.2 ssd and it is going to release pcie gen 4 m.2 ssd in upcoming
months. My question is that whether my laptop can support that types of m.2 ssd's ? If yes, do I experience only
serial ATA speed ?

2).Another main doubt is that, I saw people upgrading their rams in higher mhz speeds but in i7 7700hq cpu's can support only upto
2400 mhz its definitely useless with 2600mhz , 32000 mhz+ ram sticks. The only way to utilize its full ram speed
is to overclocking the ram But in laptops i don't see people doing that. On purchasing additional ram sticks how to check my laptop whether it
supports higher clock speed more than 2400mhz or not ?

VERY BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE.

RanjithM firstly do u need nvme at all if you dont do rendering works/content creation you dont need nvme sata its enough for gaming even normal hdd  nvme its irrelevant gaming wise also your laptop its a 7th gen cpu so it will only support 2400mhz only 8th gen up support 2666 if you want the best ram get hyperx dual channels set or vengeance 16gb min 2x8gb or 32gb 2x16gb ad no neither your mobo/cpu supports gen4 pci express nvme (its not supported on any laptops yet and i really doubt it will only desktops) only gen3 4 lanes but as i said you dont need nvme normal sata its enough get wdblue 3d nand youll be fine and you cant overclock ram on laptops all bios are completely locked   good luck

I have already saw the supported mhz in Intel website. I do some content creation and gaming stuffs like that so i need a powerful nvme ssd. I saw people overclocking their ram using bios and xmp. That's why i am asking is it possible to use ram in its full efficiency by overclocking ?

RanjithM as i said no you cant overclock the ram just get 32gb 2400 hyperx dual channel set its the only ram with xmp2.0 jedec built in  it will auto clock itself  if you do content creation and a wdblue nvme should be more than enough for you or go for the evo pro much more expensive but you might not get even get the advertised speeds as you mobo its old and also all manufacturers have the bios locked only way its to mod it its a very risky procedure not for newbies only really advanced users and not allowed to be discussed in this community it violates the ACUA neither i recommend it to anyone either way good luck :)

RanjithM yes its compatible but useless for gaming or normal usage you will only fully use it if you move very large single files also rendering and content creation etc usually u dont need to spend so much money unless u really need a premium nvme drive otherwise get a cheaper wdblue or similar even if its nvme u need its your budget so its up to you if my answers solved you issue please accept the answer(s) that helped you to solve it to mark this thread as closed so anyone else with similar questions can find it quickly thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Price is not a matter , For gaming it is really a beast its only competitor is intel optane memory . But you are saying it as useless. Why ??

RanjithM nvme for gaming its irrelevant the only thing you will notice its maybe in some games loading times nothing else also intel optane i would not recommend it at all too expensive and not really worth it a normal m.2 drive its way better i have 130+ games installed in my G3-572 90% are installed on my 5tb 2.5" drive and all run fine only 2/3 games require ssd all others are running from normal hdd either internal or external :)

sorry to trouble you again ! How does my port supports both m and b key sata and m key nvme ? Can You explain me clearly? So literally this port is compatible for both ?
