I installed a brand new NVme M2 SSD to my Acer Nitro An515-52, But the laptop no longer boots from the HDD(which has the OS files for now). Removing the SSD makes it boot again properly. My BIOS can identify both drives, But its not able to boot files from HDD when SSD is inserted. What could be the possible cause for this problem?

Hi, remove the SSD and boot to Windows and follow the instruction below:
    1. Clck the Start Button and type cmd
    2. Right-click the result and select Run as administrator
    3. Type this command and press ENTER: bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal
    4. Restart the computer and enter BIOS Setup by tapping on F2
    5. Change the SATA Operation mode  from RST to AHCI (press crtl+s on the main tab if the option is not visible)
    6. Save changes and exit Setup and Windows will automatically boot to Safe Mode.
    7. Right-click the Windows Start Menu once more. Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
    8. Type this command and press ENTER: bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot (ALT: bcdedit /deletevalue safeboot)
    9. Reboot once more and Windows will automatically start with AHCI drivers enabled.
    10. Shut down and Install the SSD

Thanks a lot for answering, I can now boot with AHCI mode without SSD, But it's still stuck on boot loop(Acer splash screen) when I install SSD .

Try the SSD in other mashine as it might be defective.

Is there a chance it will work if I install Ubuntu with a bootable flash drive on my SSD?
