Hi,

I've had my Predator PO9-600 for 2+ years and my cpu is dead (i think) i tried troubleshooting and I've been receiving the 00 code, any ideas on what I should do?
on a side note, I don't want to replace the same CPU, and i thought to my self, if I have to replace the cpu i might as well upgrade instead.I was think of getting the new i7-10700k and MSI Z490 ace. any thoughts?

It's rare for a CPU to fail, but not impossible. Which PO9-600 system do you have? What CPU, memory, storage, etc. are in there now? When you attempt to turn it on what happens? Beeps? Fans spin? Power LED?

The "00" cpu error code is ether a dead CPU or corrupt BIOS try updating/reflashing the bios via the bios flashback method. If that doesn't bring it to life, if the flashback won't help? Your mobo will need a programmer to flash the chip completely and/or the cpu/mobo replaced .

Note: Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer product. Please proceed with caution. And also, for flashing of a chip you need an experienced technician to do this work and I would NOT recommend that you do this, take your Predator PO9-600 to an Acer Service centre and get them to fix this “00” error code that you are getting.

Sorry for the late reply, its a core i7-8700k, 16gbs RAM, 250gb M.2 and 1TB HDD. the last time i turned it on was the day before i asked for help. what happens is, when i press the power button it turns on then off, I'm pretty sure its on for a second then turns off, i don't hear beeps, but the fans spins along with it's RGBs but yeah it also turns off along with the rest of the system

Hi sorry for the late reply,
i'm currently in stage 4 lockdown since june or july. I wan't to try and solve this problem by my self before asking for help from a programmer. So if i were to do it myself first, how would I update/reflash the bios via the bios flashback method?
Edit: Just to add, i cannot boot into windows or get past the post screen.

    Thank you :D

So to be clear, you turn it on and the fans start to spin, then the fans stop, all before anything is displayed on the screen or any beeps are heard? That does point toward a bad CPU, since the last thing that happens before starting to see if the memory is working is the initialization of the CPU. If the CPU fails to initialize the system shuts the power back off. A memory failure (the first step in POST is that memory check) generates a beep, so we're certainly not getting that far. Your current system is 8th gen so be aware that an upgrade to 10th gen will require purchase of a new MB, CPU and memory. You will likely be able to reuse the GPU and drives though, as long as the new MB has the right M.2 port for the SSD.
