Hello, I use an AN515-54-51M5, or an Acer Nitro 5 (2019).

After multiple days on reading reviews and comparing benchmarks everyone says that the Acer Nitro 5 has some pretty impressive download speeds or speed in general.

I purchased one today and have set everything up but when it comes to downloads (for games [I use steam]) the installations are super slow. Can anyone tell me a solution? My download speeds only go up to 400kb/s or lower.

This laptop uses "IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac" Wireless LAN Standard
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9300H
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (3GB GDDR5)
  • STORAGE: 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 (Upgraded to 16GB DDR4)

If you need any extra information, please ask me.

    Good evening BarrettHans !

    Are all drivers properly updated?
What about your modem / router, which make and model?
What type of connection do you use and what speed?

It's probably the drivers, if you could direct me on how to update my drivers I would greatly appreciate it. If that doesn't work, I'll tell you the other information.

To update drivers, there are several ways:
1- can run windows update and let system find outdated drivers
2- may use some driver automation software such as DriverBooster or Drivermax
3- can download each driver manually from developer websites (such as Intel, Realtek, etc)

My drivers are up to date.

And which one do I go for?

Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560 130mhz, sometimes just uninstalling it then rebooting fixes it

It asks: "Delete the driver software for this device."

Do I or do I not?

Question, before you do the below please anser me, are your download speeds only slow in Steam?
If you left click the wireless adapter to highlight it then right click it and you should get a drop down box like the pic above, then select uninstall. If all you are getting is Delete driver for this device then go ahead and do that followed by rebooting

Hi, I had the same problem whit my brand new Acer Nitro 5 model AN515-54-5812 with Intel WiFi 6, but that only happened with my principal modem (Technicolor CGA0112) the download speed was only 1 or 2 mbs, but when connecting to my repeater or my phone hotspot (Nexxt amp300 and Galaxy Note 8) the download speed was just normal, I managed to solve my problem by changing the modem settings.

I wrote a more detail guide but it's only in spanish.
