Cursor jumps around uncontrollably every 2 seconds, separating words already typed, reappears at random in new lines all over page.  I've changed all possible settings,- even disconnected Elan mouse features and tap-tap. HORRIBLE PROBLEM!  PC is brand new and all else works well.

    try turn off touchpad?

Yes, turning off pad did not make difference.  I have been trying various mouse (Elan) settings on/off, different sensitivities, etc, but nothing improves cursor problems.  Cursor flies off screen to random locations, splits words being typed, appears in midst of prior lines of text, etc, even if I purposefully keep hands off pad while fingers on keys.  Suddenly sections will be highlighted when not even typing, then get erased!  Keep  hoping it is something simple to adjust....  Has anyone else had these experiences????

I am afraid you are very correct.  Thank you for both of your responses and your time. :-)
