Acer nitro 5
CPU: i5 8300h 2.3 ghz - 3.9ghz
GPU: GTX 1050ti 4gb gddr5 vram
MEMORY: 8gb 2666mhz 1.2v
STORAGE: 2tb Firecuda SSHD 5400rpm
WARRANTY: expired

I have an acer nitro 5 an515-53-55g9. I've had this laptop for about one year and whenever I use it on the battery, the framerate on games, fortnite for example has massive differences as it will drop from 120fps to about 45-60 WITH many stutters dropping to 16 fps which makes it practically unplayable. With that said, I have allowed the battery life to be at max performance in nvidia control panel and stopped it from being affected in geforce experience.
When I compare it to my friend's nitro from 2019 (newer model), his nitro has a 1050 4gb gddr5 and i5 9300h with what I see is packing a better cooling system. His nitro 5 ends up receiving almost no difference in performance without the charger, smooth experience.

I have recently undervolted my cpu by -145 because the cpu would reach 98 degrees celsius with the ac adapter plugged in and stock thermal paste appliance, and the cpu sometimes power volts during my recent stress tests with and without the undervolt.
With the undervolt and repaste, my Nitro reaches no more than 80-81 degrees celsius while playing fortnite and battery life is ok reaching about 3 hours at times which is not how long it would last in the first 3 months of use, I would get about 5-6 hours in daily use.

I am still experiencing bad battery usage while gaming and normal use(chrome, netflix, etc.)
I would very much appreciate the help on this topic.

This laptop and gameing laptops in general are not designed to run games on battery, so to the point - there is nothing you can do to change this.

Yes, but why would it be that my friend's newer model has this and mine doesn't? I just got this laptop for gaming and work and I would really like the battery to run for a lot longer.

What has the newer models? Which models? BTW there is and always will be performance difference on battery and on DC! Why yours is bigger? Maybe your battery is degraded as it is lot older than the one of your friends. Again gaming laptops are not designed to run games on battery.
